YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY, there will be four Beatles biopics. British filmmaker Sam Mendes will helm the project as director, describing the bold creative decision as the Beatles story being too big for just one film. Announced at CinemaCon at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, all four cast members walked onto the stage in varied all-black outfits.

And just so you were wondering about how this will effect the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison (the deceased members), their families, as well as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr gave their blessings to Mendes.

Roles of a lifetime don’t get bigger than this. Current UK holders of the It Boy title have been cast in the films:

The official cast of The Beatles

  • Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. The south Londoner will play the founder and co-lead vocalist.
  • Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney. The recent Gladiator will play the bass guitarist.
  • Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. The last big role we saw the Irish actor in was slurping Jacob Elordi’s bath water in Saltburn. Now, Keoghan will play the band’s drummer.
  • Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, who was the lead guitarist. Mescal and Quinn reunite after both starring in Ridley Scott’s 2024 Gladiator II.
