The best venues to visit on ANZAC Day in Sydney
Whether you're looking for somewhere to play two-up, pay your respects or grab a beer (given the ANZACs' reputation for larrikinism, we think they'd support the latter), we've rounded up the best venues to visit across Sydney this ANZAC Day

MOST NATIONS AROUND the world have similar ways of honouring those who have served their country. Most hold solemn ceremonies and have days of commemoration. We do that too, here in Australia, in the form of dawn services. Although, in keeping with the ANZAC principles of mateship, camaraderie and larrikinism, we also like to flip coins in the air, put away a few cold ones and inhale a couple of Anzac biscuits – and we’re sure the ANZACs would support us doing so.
It should come as no surprise then that many Australians choose to spend ANZAC Day at a pub, club or bar. After all, it’s the only day of the year that two-up is legal at authorised venues. So, why not get in on the action?
If you’re currently searching for the right venue to visit on ANZAC Day but having no luck, allow us to do the hard work for you. We’ve scoured the specials boards and online listings while digging into our memories of ANZAC Days gone by to come up with a definitive list of the best venues to visit this year. Scroll on for our picks.
