Well, it’s about to become a reality. Wonderscape 2025, Cloudy Bay’s new waterborne dining experience, is set to make waves (pun intended) at their Cellar Door on April 12, 2025.

For the first time in New Zealand, Cloudy Bay is taking its already world-class experience up a notch by floating a spectacular dining table on water — yes, you read that right. With the table set just inches beneath the surface of the water, you’ll dine on water, surrounded by the lush landscape of Central Otago’s finest vineyards. This year’s Wonderscape isn’t just an event, it’s a feast for the senses blending nature, wine, cuisine, and unforgettable design.

Australian interior designer Steve Cordony has pulled out all the stops to style the space, drawing inspiration from the very landscape around you — think natural linens, foraged greenery, and an atmosphere that celebrates the beauty of Central Otago. It’s the perfect backdrop for this immersive dining experience.

Chef Tom Hishon and Cloudy Bay’s own Chef Momo have teamed up for the seasonal menu. Think Central Otago peaches, fresh oysters, and a rich Fiordland Wapiti backstrap paired perfectly with Cloudy Bay’s award-winning wines. Each dish is carefully crafted to enhance the wines, bringing out the complexity and elegance of each bottle.

Naturally, the wine pairing experience is just as carefully curated, with each wine building in complexity, taking you on a journey that mirrors the stunning landscape around you. And of course dessert – sheep’s milk ice cream with coffee cream and hazelnut biscotti.
