Jacob Elordi and Harry Styles clearly share the same taste in Celine sneakers
Its low-cut, streamlined look gives more loafer than traditional sneaker vibes

HARRY STYLES has been absolutely on one these past few months, delivering fit after fit. The British singer has been on the road with his Together, Together tour and while most the buzz has been about his various custom stage pieces from Dior, Prada or Celine, he’s been nailing it with his off-duty kit as well.
Adding to the list was a recent outing in what is clearly now THE sneaker of the summer: Celine’s flat sneaker.
Styles was spotted in New York’s Manhattan region wearing the cobalt blue suede version over the weekend where is his mid-residency at Madison Square Garden. Not a week earlier in London, our very own Jacob Elordi had made the same cal while on a date night with current alleged girlfriend Kendall Jenner. Elordi was spotted in the classic ecru colourway, paired with dark denim for a dinner at dining hotspot Cipriani.
Now if I had a dollar for every time two of the most photographed men in the world were spotted wearing the exact same style of sold-out Celine of shoe within days of each other and NOT supplied by their stylist, I’d have $2. But it would still have been twice and that’s enough to suggest that these $1500 shoes are going to be the hot ticket item over the coming months.
This return to the flatter, streamlined silhouette sneaker has been brewing for months. Trends in footwear have been retreating from the heavier, chunky-styled “dad” sneaker for some time (they’ll never go away entirely, New Balance would never put their footwear on the GLP1s but things are lightening up overall).
Puma got there first late last year, when Austin Butler wore the low-slung Speedcats in his film Caught Stealing. Vans followed with its own Lowpro, stripping the waffle sole back to something closer to a plimsoll.
But the thing that has made the Celine make so coveted is how much they’ve turned the slimming down into an shark-like level of streamlined necessity. Gone entirely is any hint of wedge or chunky midsole. That ecru suede and lambskin upper has been cut low enough to disappear under a cuffed trouser, with a removable Triomphe charm threaded through the laces as the only nod to logo. Perhaps the biggest allure of of the Celine is that it actually reads more a loafer who just happened to decide to commit to being a sneaker.
