Ryan Gosling wore a new TAG Heuer Chronograph to the ‘Project Hail Mary’ premiere
The sci-fi blockbuster has kicked off its press tour – and the star's already bringing out some brilliant watches

IN ANY GOOD sci-fi film, the tech is the star of the show – and nothing bridges the gap between style and science quite like a good watch. Project Hail Mary is no exception: not only does Ryan Gosling sport a brilliant TAG Heuer smartwatch throughout the film, but he’s also making his TAG timepieces the centre of his outfits during the press tour, which kicked off earlier this week.
At the world premiere of the film in London on Monday, 9 March, he wore a piece from the Swiss luxury watchmaker that’s only been launched very recently, and he’s making a great case for collectors to pick one up.
The actor sported a brand-new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer, a contemporary spin on one of their original Seafarer design from 1949, which featured a unique functional twist that made the historic timepiece so distinctive: a dedicated tide display just above the 6 o’clock marker.

Without a doubt, the dial was the star of the show, popping against the red and burgundy hues of his suit. The soft champagne colour of the face, as well as the gold-plated indexes and TAG’s signature “intrepid teal” give the watch a distinctive look that transforms that gives the classic glassbox Carrera layout a little more flair.

As for the specifications, it comes in a 42mm steel glassbox case with water resistance up to 100 metres, and it’s power by TAG’s in-house TH20-04 automatic movement, with an 80-hour power reserve.
If you’re convinced you can pull it off as well as Ryan Gosling, you can buy TAG Heuer’s Carrera Chronograph Seafarer now directly from the brand for $13,250
