This week, we’re preparing for Sydney’s debut of cult Adelaide event Lost in the F.O.G (Festival of Grenache) and investing in wine decanters while dreaming of Italian getaways. Also, Prada’s controversial Fall 2026 collection has landed and a Daniel Roth timepiece that gives new meaning to the term quiet luxury.

This Daniel Roth Extra Plat watch
A Daniel Roth timepiece is a thing of beauty on any given day but the Extra Plat is an another level.
Subdued, subtle, dare we even use the word “restrained”. The case is the signature ellipsocurvex shape – a double ellipse, part tank, part dress watch – now in platinum, measuring 38.6mm by 35.5mm at 7.7mm thick.
The white gold guilloché dial keeps the branding faint, letting the shape do the talking. Flip it over and the hand-wound DR002 shows mirror-polished bevels and bridges shaped to echo the case’s curve, down to the click spring.
Beautiful in any language.
Tickets to Lost in the F.O.G.
Grenache has spent the past few years shaking its reputation as the Rhône’s third wheel, and Lost in the F.O.G (Festival of Grenache) has had a hand in that. Now in its fifth year, the South Australian festival was founded by the team at Alkina around one idea: put every eye in the room on Grenache.
This year it lands in Sydney for the first time, with more than 20 producers pouring upwards of 100 wines across a roaming, move-at-your-own-pace tasting. Alex Head brings his high-altitude Barossa fruit, Stephen Pannell turns up with McLaren Vale’s benchmark reds, Alkina’s Amelia Nolan has the soil maps from her work with terroir specialist Pedro Parra, and Ministry of Clouds’ Bernice Ong rounds it out with some of the region’s most precise bush vine examples.

The family-owned Tiziana Terenzi first got their name creating candles before it moved into creating fragrances. We’ve been quiet fans of the brand for some time – packaging that looks like sculpture is always a win. Presentation matters!
As does what’s inside. Notte Romano is like taking a deep breath inside an Italian coffee shop that is right next door to a florist. Incredibly warming, a hug, some roses and a hot toddy all in one hit.
This jacket by Prada
Plenty of people were annoyed with Prada’s Fall 2026 collection, which featured deliberate wear and literal tearing on the garments. Personally, it couldn’t hit stores fast enough for the Esquire team.
It finally has, and hot off the rack is this jacket. The detailing is courtesy of cotton bonded with houndstooth check fabric beneath.
These loafers from Saint Laurent
The rise and rise of the loafer’s popularity has meant the market is flooded for choice. But even among so much good, there is the truly great.
Saint Laurent’s take on the popular shoe adds a monogram moment with ruched leather and a deck-shoe-esque leather lacing. Essential.

This full-spectrum infrared sauna
Indulgent, even for us, but this is literally called the “want” list.
Rather than a home gym, home health is where it’s at. Starting with, naturally, an infrared sauna. Keep the HIIT for the gym and the recovery from the comfort of your balcony or garage or backyard.

Like a math equation of our favourite things: the relaxed, elevated look of a polo shirt made from ultra-fine merino wool. Peak styling.
The limited edition Riedel decanter
A lot of the red wines, particularly young reds, benefit from a little airing before you drink. It apparently helps open up the flavour more.
