WHAT TO DO, what to read, what to wear, what to burn some cash on. Every week the Esquire team round up the things that have caught our eye across the cities and online to keep you in great taste and style…

Tickets to the theatre, a long lunch and a fragrance that promises to “evoke a flourishing ecosystem of organic disobedience”. Oh, and oysters. Always.

Check out the list below for this week’s The Want List.

Oysters at Shell House

Dinner and a show but it’s VIVID lights and the most delicious oysters in Sydney.

Shell House is channelling the East Coast Oyster Trail for one Sunday this June long weekend. Thirteen NSW farmers – among them Australia’s first certified organic Sydney Rock Oyster producer and the 2026 Sydney Royal Champion – bring their catch to multiple levels of the building, paired with NSW Semillon and an Archie Rose Martini Bar. Masterclasses, a fried oyster po’boy, and six oyster tokens included in the ticket.

This asymmetrical watch from Dennison and Collectability

A whiff of mid-century futurism and we’re sold.

We’ve been watching Dennison since their ALD landed in 2024, and the second collaboration with US Patek specialist Collectability is their most interesting yet.

Emmanuel Gueit – the man behind the Royal Oak Offshore – has kept the lugless case but cut the dial window at an unexpected angle, creating a beguiling asymmetry. Simply put, it looks bloody cool.

This Le Labo incense and incense holder

We already love their room aromas and candles (Laurier 62 all the way) but what was missing was that extra ambience.

They’ve now fixed that with a new line of incense in three of their iconic scents: Santal 26, Ambroxyde 17 and Encens 9, along with an appropriately industrial-esque, minimalist ceramic incense holder. Light up and let your thoughts drift along with the smoke. Our pick of the three is definitely Encens 9.

These Oliver Peoples x Jil Sander sunglasses

Two of our favourite designers in one hit? Thank you, yes.

The reason these caught our eye (pun) comes down to the thicker, acetate frames and boxy silhouette that still retains a streamlined look. Perfectly balanced and suitable for most face shapes.

This grey knit from Dior

As soon as we spotted this at Jonathan Anderson’s debut collection for Dior, it had all the signs of becoming a staple classic. The house code grey, simple branding across the front and cricket sweater-styled V neck… we have a winner for winter.

This painting by Carly Le Cerf

There is a good reason why the Australian landscape remains such a constant source of inspiration to artists – it’s an artwork itself. Its colours, the environment’s harshness that somehow propagates life. A miracle, which is what has been captured in the new series of paintings from Julz Beresford and Carly Le Cerf in their exhibition Between Dust and Rain at Michael Reid Gallery.

22.9639° S, 116.9855° E (III) is the third in the series, capturing a specific geographic location in the red-dirt heartlands of Australia that manages to reveal new details with every look.

This suede Prada tote

Find a good bag and you have made a friend for life.

Prada, of course, deliver the goods with this cinnamon suede tote, for both practical and aesthetic reasons. Big enough to throw daily essentials in, not so big that we’re tempted to overpack just to head to work.

Also, delicious colour.

The lunch special at Bar Local Drop

Mates in Melbourne swear by this one and we haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.

Based in Collingwood, Bar Local Drop – a brick-and-mortar evolution of wine delivery service The Local Drop – has become a favourite among the locals. A great menu all round, but the weekday lunch special just hits the spot. Choose from either a rotating pasta dish or a half/whole spatchcock.

And a glass of the Hochkirch ‘Blanc’ Sémillon.

This new fragrance From Nasomatto

If you have trypophobia perhaps look away

It’s not even on the shelves yet, but we are intrigued. If you’re familiar with the Nasomatto name, you’ll know that founder Alessandro Gaultier likes nothing more than to FAAFO when it comes to bizarre accords.

Micodelirio is, allegedly, mossy. A “natural delirium” that will “evoke a flourishing ecosystem of organic disobedience” – their words, not mine. A single note listed so far, mushrooms.

Hook it to my veins.

Tickets to see Doubt

Big month for Australian actor Sam Reid. Not only is he returning to our screens as the Brat Prince in The Vampire Lestat but he’s also making his theatre debut at Sydney Theatre Company’s run of Doubt.

Starring across from stage legend Pamela Rabe, this will be one of the golden tickets of the season.
