A seat at Côte Basque
Yet another reason to take a swinging weekend in Melbourne.
Côte Basque is the latest restaurant served up by chef Andrew McConnell and Jo McGann, having opened this week, and it’s already got us frothing at the mouth.
As it might suggest, the menu is a European grill inspired by Basque cuisine – at the heart of which is a wood-fired grill and oven.
Save us a seat, Andy!
The new fragrance from Amouage
Omani fragrance house Amouage has released a few bangers in the past 12 months, but their newest, Elsewhere, is perhaps the most intriguing.
Part of the Essences line, Elsewhere was originally a limited edition release under an entirely different name, Sinbad. As the title might suggest, the newly christened version still has the same feel of a seaborne adventure.
Elsewhere is a descent into the bowels of a trading ship from far countries: spices, black tea and tobacco are sweetened by mango and honey. Notes of the ship’s wood are also there, with vetiver and cedar.

Every man should have a fun shirt in his wardrobe. Not a novelty shirt, forbid, but something with a great pattern or print that adds some colour.
