WHEN THE winning captain lifts the FIFA World Cup trophy on Sunday, 19 July, the prize is scheduled to arrive on the pitch inside a bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk, guided by a Louis Vuitton ambassador and a FIFA Legend. The presentation continues a protocol established at the 2010 tournament in South Africa and repeated in Brazil in 2014, Russia in 2018 and Qatar in 2022.

The 2026 Trophy Trunk was handcrafted by Louis Vuitton artisans at the House’s historic workshops in Asnières-sur-Seine, near Paris. Its exterior is covered in Monogram canvas, with two front panels carrying a hand-painted golden “V” – for “Victory” and “Vuitton” – in colours that echo the FIFA World Cup trophy.

Leather trims known as lozines frame the case, while gold-plated brass corner protectors, a lock and clasps recall hardware designs used by Louis Vuitton since the 1860s. The interior is lined with light beige leather, with the Louis Vuitton–FIFA partnership logo integrated into the lid.

“At its heart stands the world’s most coveted trophy – a symbol of dedication, collective ambition and the ultimate celebration of victory,” Louis Vuitton chairman and chief executive Pietro Beccari said in a statement.

The World Cup commission is one entry in Louis Vuitton’s expanding portfolio of sporting trophy cases. For the original 2026 Formula 1 calendar, the Asnières workshops created 24 custom trunks, one for each Grand Prix — the House’s largest trophy-trunk project to date. The programme forms part of the second year of parent company LVMH’s 10-year global partnership with Formula 1, which began in 2025.

Louis Vuitton also supplied bespoke trunks for the 2026 Australian Open finals. The Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup was presented after the women’s final on Saturday, 31 January, while the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup followed after the men’s final on Sunday, 1 February. Both trunks were covered in Monogram canvas and lined with microfiber in the Australian Open’s signature blue, with the tournament’s white logo inside the lid.

Alongside the official World Cup Trophy Trunk, Louis Vuitton has unveiled a limited-edition collection of three models: the Coffret 8 Montres, designed to hold as many as eight watches; the Cotteville 16 Montres, which accommodates up to 16 watches on a removable tray; and the Malle Courrier Lozine 110. Each is finished in Monogram canvas and decorated with a hand-painted FIFA World Cup logo and the golden “V.” Trade reporting says the pieces may also be personalised with their owner’s initials.
