Make Louis Vuitton’s soft leather bags your next travel companion
Hitting the road? Don't forget to pack your Louis Vuitton bag. Featuring a new line of soft leather goods, the maison's spring/summer 2025 collection is full of super supple silhouettes

IF YOU’RE AN AVID luxury shopper, you’ve heard the term ‘small leather goods’. Spanning wallets, coin purses and card holders, it’s a key category for high-end brands looking to attract younger ‘entry level’ consumers. But since his appointment in 2023, Louis Vuitton menswear designer Pharrell Williams has been soft launching a baggage category of his own: soft leather goods.
Williams’ first subject was Louis Vuitton’s iconic Speedy bag. The reimagined colours of lime green and fire engine red were enough to turn heads when they debuted on the runway, but it was the style’s distinct buttery slouch that left the most devoted Speedy wearers scratching their heads – the traditional iteration was known for being more structured. Usually made in brown canvas, Williams reimagined the Speedy in full leather, so supple it pools on any surface. It quickly became a favourite item amongst men who aren’t afraid of wearing a bag; Jacob Elordi, papped in the Sydney International Airport bookstore, placed his Speedy on top of his carry-on Rimowa suitcase; drooping to the side, it appeared at risk of falling off.
The Speedy is the most well-known treatment of William’s slouchy assault on Vuitton’s leather goods, but the creative polymath has introduced a slew of other bag styles from the maison’s archives for his spring/summer 2025 collection. Recently, for Esquire‘s autumn 2025 issue, we took some of the bags for a drive, to see just how travel-friendly they are. The result: you don’t have to be Jacob Elordi to wear one on your travels.
